Poligny, collégiale Saint Hippolyte

J'ai eu l'occasion de passer une petite heure à Poligny et j'en ai profité pour tester un nouveau carnet de croquis du commerce, le fameux Venezia de Fabriano. Son papier est épais et lisse, très beau et agréable. Il paraît qu'il supporte un peu d'aquarelle mais je n'ai pas encore essayé. Il me paraît un peu lourd dans le sac par rapport aux carnets reliés maison et surtout il ne se tient pas bien ouvert comme les reliures coptes. Mais je pense qu'il va "se faire", comme une bonne paire de chaussures, car au bout de quelques croquis il me semble que ce problème s'arrange. Ou bien c'est moi qui m'habitue !

Church in Poligny

I had the opportunity to spend a short hour in Poligny and I used this time slot to test my new Venezia sketchbook, by Fabriano. It's made with a great smooth and thick paper, very easy to draw on. It's said to bear a reasonable amount of watercolor althought I didn't try this yet. The book is a bit heavy in my handbag compared to the homemade books I usually use and it's difficult to keep it wide open, unlike the coptic-bound ones. But the problem may vanish with use as I already feel there's a difference. Or may be I'm just getting used to it...
